I don’t mind PR and Companies pitching me about their products and services. But I would prefer them to follow the guidelines below so that we both can have a smooth experience. From my side, I assure you that I agree to any embargo on publishing time provided it is not indefinite and within reasonable time limits. I will not sign NDA unless there is a monetary transaction involved between me and the other party. But I agree to frieNDA.
- No telephone or Skype calls unless it is authorized by me explicitly.
- Email is the preferred medium of initial communication. Please use the email in the contact me page for the purpose.
- If I follow you on Twitter or Facebook, then you can pitch me on these networks. If you are pitching on Twitter, please do it within three tweets. If you need more than that, please use email instead.
- While pitching to me or while sending press releases, please be direct to the point without any bragging about the greatness of the company or principals. Only a focussed pitching will get my attention.
- Please don’t send me press releases that talks about the awards won by your company or its principals. Please do not send me information about the list of conferences your company plans to attend.
- Before pitching the product/service, please make it clear about the company you represent.
- My areas of interests are Cloud Computing (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), Open Source, Open Formats, Open Identity, Semantic Web. If your company is not releated to any of the above, I am not interested.
- Since I deal with companies from different parts of the world, I have reserved three days a week for telephone/online briefings. Please check my availability and use the web application to set up the briefing. Make sure you communicate through email first and gauge my interest in the briefing before setting up a time using the scheduling app I use.
- Don’t consider my acceptance to participate in the briefing call as an indication of my willingness to write about the product/service/company. Any attempts to force me to write will lead to blacklisting of the Company/PR Firm.
If these guidelines are repeatedly ignored, the company/pr firm will be blacklisted and I will not respond to them in future. Thank you for your cooperation and I am looking forward to engage with you regarding your product/service.
