Open Source means that the source code is available and published, modifications can be made, usage of the software can be free.... the name means the source code is "open" that is why the name is Open Source "code". If a company publishes it's source code, allows free usage for people around the world that cannot afford proprietary software...... have spent 5+ years in development to distribute for free..... and simply want to have their logo displayed...
